Hoping against all odds….

That’s what we’re doing.

The cancer is in Ron’s lungs, stage IV. We’re seeing the radiology oncologist tomorrow to see about treatment for his leg and then on Friday, seeing the medical oncologist about chemotherapy.

From what I’ve read (like at the Mayo Clinic website and a book from Johns Hopkins University) we are looking at quality of life and palliative care. There isn’t a CURE for lung cancer.

We’re praying a lot and crying a lot and making plans for our future. Ron has made sure that Daniel and I will be financially set, with his life insurance policy paying off the house and our two vehicles. His 401K will see us through and I won’t need to worry about finances.

Still, I’d rather have my husband for another 25-30 years.

But everyday is a GIFT and I’m grateful for the days we have had and the days to come.

Thank you all for the prayers.

Love,

~ Patty
