Sorta Salisbury Steak

Another winner from AllRecipes!  Since there are only three of us, I adjusted the recipe.


1 tbsp. canola oil
1 cup all-purpose flour, divided
4 cube steaks
1 large onion, sliced into strips
2 cups beef stock
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Heat oil in deep, oven-proof skillet.  Dredge steaks in flour, reserving remaining flour.  Brown steaks in oil, a few at a time, then remove to a plate.  When all the steaks are browned, place two steaks in oven-proof skillet and top with half of the strips of onion.  Top with two more steaks and remaining onions.  Mix beef stock with Worcestershire sauce and pour over steaks and onions.

Cover and bake for 2 hours.  Remove steaks and onions from skillet and keep warm.  Whisk in 2 tbsp. of the remaining flour into cooking juices.  Bring to a boil over medium and stir until thickened.

Serve over noodles.
