It’s Friday morning, I’m great, and how are you?
I’m feeling pretty good. I’ve been sleeping with my Cpap machine very regularly now and can definitely tell the difference from when I do not sleep with it. Darned machine! I will be glad when I don’t need it because the mask bothers me – I can’t sleep on my side. But it helps me, so for now, I’m stuck with it.
Do you like the new avatar? Very cute! I love going to Cool Buddy and finding new ones. They’re very cute and they’re free: exactly my price! LOL
For my lunch today I’m having a Totino’s pizza (hamburger). Tonight for dinner I’m fixing ribeye steaks and buttered potatoes and a veg. Tomorrow’s dinner will be pork chops, mac and cheese and a veg. Sunday night will be the dinner for the Priests after the Penance Service and we ladies will eat in the kitchen after the Priests are finished. My dh and ds get to go out for dinner, their choice of anywhere in town.
It’s a nice day outdoors. Not too cold. Thankfully the wind has died down, it was crazy on Wednesday.
Okay, off to Amity Mama to get caught up.
Yesterday was a busy day! At first there was the psych eval (also known as The Inquisition, haha!) and then the Fun 4 All at church.
The Inquisition was long and, well, it was long. It did last about four hours and it was at times, a challenge. We had the interview part first. The doctor asked me about the actual weight loss surgery and how much I knew about it. Ha, surprised him, I told him everything I knew – he said, “You’ve done your research, haven’t you?” and I have! Then we went onto my personal history (bleh!). Once that part was over we went onto the cognitive testing and the personality testing. I have no idea why they want to know how intelligent I am…do they refuse surgery on people who don’t know the meaning of the word “panacea”? The personality test was the MMPI, the one I took in Arkansas. Boring! Anyhow, he said that everything was going to be transcribed and sent off to Dr. D in Columbia and then we’ll just wait some more.
The Fun 4 All at church got rained out. But we had a nice crowd come in for the chicken dinner! Too bad the children’s activities outdoors were rained out. They had a beer garden outdoors and it was gettiing some people. Not me, of course, but I did see people out there.
I used my cpap machine again last night. I haven’t been using it for a few nights because my allergies have been so nasty, and it’s hard to breathe with the cpap machine and blow my nose at the same time. But yesterday my nose seemed to have cleared up, so I used it, yippee. Sometime during the night, though, I woke up and the mask was sitting on my chest, haha, I have no idea why or when I took it off…of course I put it back on, though.
Dinner tonight is fajitas. The meat is marinating. Ron is cutting the grass, it’s gotten very tall with all the rain we’ve been having. Daniel is playing with a remote control truck he purchased yesterday at the Fun 4 All.
Okay, off to the laundry room again. Again! I’ve already folded one load, there’s one in the dryer, one in the washer and I have another to put in after that…..sheesh!
Hasta la vista, baby!
It took me about 10-15 minutes until I could breathe properly and lay down. Poor Daniel, I think he was worried. I tried to keep him calm but it’s nearly impossible to talk with the mask on. He said it sounded like I was crying.I woke up with a mild headache. But I’m not groggy or sleepy or anything.
Hopefully, tonight will be better.
Well, I haven’t been on the computer, that’s for sure! LOL
Ron and Daniel have been trying to download a PC game on the computer and have had it tied up for a few days. And I mean TIED UP! Finally, they decided tonight that they need something, I can’t remember what it’s called…game card? Anyhow, they aren’t going to get it…we need a new computer! This one is 6 or 7 years old, it’s ancient. They’re going to just hang onto the game and wait for the new ‘puter.
I got my Cpap machine today! I need to fill it with distilled water and hook myself up tonight for the first time. Also, discovered that there is a Sleep Apnea Support Group about 45 minutes from here. I will call them tomorrow and find out when they meet.
Well, it’s time to get the child into bed.
Last night I had my Sleep Apnea Test. I had to be at the hospital by 8:00 pm, so after taking a quick shower and cooking, eating and cleaning up supper, I was out the door.
My tech was great. His name was Chris and he was a talkative fellow! He is the world’s greatest sleep apnea tech, just ask him…that’s what he told me LOL
It was after 9:30 by the time he had me hooked up to all the wires, I swear there were like 100! And
then he turned off the lights, went into his office and he had me do some exercises (like move your right foot like you’re pumping a gas pedal, now move your left) and finally he told me “good night” and I got to sleep.Sometime during the night, he came in and woke me up to put a Cpap mask on me. It felt kind of claustrophic at first and I almost panicked but I guess I was too sleepy to fight him.
He woke me up around 6:15 or 6:30 and I was NOT ready to get up yet. Then he unhooked me from all my wires and I got dressed and drove home. Daniel and Ron were still snoozing and so I fell into bed by myself and slept until Ron woke me up at 10:00 am.
I had to run to the library to update my work schedule for our salad luncheon, then ran to Walmart to get some groceries…came home, had a sandwich and have tossed one load (the first of many) into the washing machine.
I’m still kind of tired. Chris told me that I would be, since last night was a bit stressful. OH, he did tell me UNofficially that the test would help me qualify for my surgery – in other words, I failed the test and I have sleep apnea. The medical equipment company in town will be contacting me probably on Monday or Tuesday to get me set up at home with my own Cpap machine.
Okay, off to Facebook to see what’s new.
